In this weeks sports skydiving interviews we have Yvi. She’s one of our upcoming shredders and biggest frother for everything. As you’ll read soon Yvi is a big kid and the sky is her playground!

This is Yvi’s story and what she had to say!

.

how did you get into skydiving?

The thrill of it. I’ve always loved the idea of experiencing freefall. I remember seeing images of larger formations in the sky and wished I could do that one day. Admittedly, I also watched Point Break a million times.

what was your favourite aff solo stage?

That would have to be stage 1. The moment when you realise that you are actually freefalling in the sky on your own for the first time is priceless.

What has been your favourite skydiving memory?

For me the best memories were made on the ground. It’s about the friendships made. I feel very fortunate to have met an amazing bunch of people. I have felt a great amount of support from them and love how we are always there for each other. Together we’ve had amazing trips away, we laugh and cry together, lift each other up and have each other’s back. Shout out to my sky fam… Love you so much!!!

Whats your skydiving goals you’re pursuing?

So many. Skydiving for me feels like being a kid in a candy store. There are so many disciplines to explore and pathways to upskill. I want to work on becoming a packer, a coach, do lots of 4-way team jumps and get better at angles, to name a few.

Where do you see yourself in the next 5 years?

Who knows, doesn’t matter as long as I’m having fun with it. Possibly joining some bigway jumps. Being a reliable packer or maybe even flying a plane 🙂

If you could give any advice to yourself when you started skydiving, what would it be?

Don’t be to hard on yourself. Have patience, things will fall into place eventually.

Who should we interview next?

Abi Wales and Mick Ahrens because they are both inspiring legends!
